These pieces are made of construction paper that I cut with an X-acto knife. Some consist of one piece of paper pressed flat against a background, and other are built of several pieces of paper mounted at various depths inside shadowbox frames. I can reproduce these and many other images in various configurations of depth, color, size, and complexity.

Spacetime Deer in Silver and Gold (3D) - 11" x 9 1/8". 17 layers of paper, 4 planes of depth.
Here is how this paperscape is assembled, using rectangular spacers that fit perfectly into the frame to mount layers of paper with even space in between them:
